Evans Scholars Foundation
Championships since 1899. Scholarships since 1930.
The Evans Scholars Program provides full tuition and housing scholarships to high-achieving caddies with limited financial means, administered by the Western Golf Association. Since 1930, the program has helped over 12,000 caddies graduate from college.
What the Scholarship Covers
The Evans Scholarship covers full tuition and housing for four years at one of 28 partner universities — a value exceeding $125,000. Recipients are selected for their strong caddie record (typically 2+ years), excellent academics (approx. 3.3 GPA), demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character.
How It's Funded
The Par Club is the primary funding source, with donations starting at $250 annually. Additional funding comes from the BMW Championship. Over 43,500 Par Club members help sustain this life-changing program every year.
How to Apply
Applications are accepted at the beginning of an applicant's senior year in high school or as college freshmen. Visit wgaesf.org to learn more about eligibility and the application process.
First Tee — Savannah
Building Game Changers through the game of golf.
First Tee — Savannah is a youth development organization that empowers kids and teens by instilling life-enhancing values through golf. By integrating the game with a life skills curriculum, they create active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience — equipping young people with tools they'll carry throughout their lives.
Golf & Life Skills Programs
First Tee's programs seamlessly blend golf instruction with a life skills curriculum — creating experiences where kids feel excited to grow, safe to fail, and better prepared for school, friendships, and careers.
Mentorship & Coaching
Volunteer coaches and staff work directly with youth in the Savannah community, offering paid and volunteer positions for adults of all ages and experience levels who want to make a difference at the golf course.

The Tequila Interchange Project
Preserving the heritage and biodiversity of agave distilled spirits.
The Tequila Interchange Project (TIP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and consumer advocacy group dedicated to the preservation of sustainable, traditional, and quality practices within the agave distilled spirits industry. Founded in 2010, TIP comprises bartenders, educators, researchers, and enthusiasts working to protect the culture of tequila and mezcal.
Bat Friendly Certification
In collaboration with UNAM, TIP supports the Bat Friendly Tequila and Mezcal Project, encouraging producers to allow 5% of their agave to flower — providing food for pollinating bats and increasing genetic diversity of the agave plant.
Sustainable Production Advocacy
TIP advocates for traditional methods — such as brick oven steaming and copper distillation — over modern, industrialized processes that compromise quality and biodiversity. They act as a critical liaison between consumers and regulatory bodies like the Consejo Regulador del Tequila.
Research & Conservation
In 2025, TIP awarded its first $5,000 research grants to support Agroecological Research in Jalisco and watershed restoration in Sonora. 100% independent, TIP receives no sponsorship from any spirits brand or governmental agency.
