The name Matíari (pronounced Mah-Tee-Ah-Ree) is inspired by the ancient Huichol tribe of Mexico — one of the earliest peoples to distill agave spirits using traditional pot stills. Meaning "the first" or "the beginning" in the Huichol language, Matíari honors the earliest origins of agave distillation.
Matíari is the first tequila commercially produced at the historic Tateposco distillery, located in a region where vino-mezcal has been cultivated for more than 500 years. As one of the foundational sites of early agave-spirit production, Tateposco stands as both the physical and philosophical home of Matíari.
This legacy inspired the approach: to craft tequila using the same core principles that defined agave distillation centuries ago — patience, precision, and respect for the land.

Matíari Tequila Blanco
Hand-selected 100% Agave Azul from Jalisco, brick-oven roasted, tahona-crushed, and double-distilled in copper pot stills. Not aged, so the agave speaks for itself — fresh, clean, and remarkably expressive.
Refined. Complex. Balanced.
Matíari Tequila Reposado
The same traditional craft foundation as the Blanco, then rested for 3 months in ex-Bourbon barrels. The result is a beautifully balanced spirit — warm vanilla and oak notes layered over vivid agave character.
